Dear Reader…
People in general are
interesting to me as to the why’s we all do what we do or don’t do! For me writing characters with their quirks
and writing in their reactions to certain things in the story, is some way of
answering they why’s behind a person’s own decisions, just so happens to be in
a fictional tale!
Hi! I am the author
of Meridian Chronicles: Black Widow
Curse & The Coven. You may not have
heard much about me, I am fairly new to the world of sharing a story from
within the pages of a book. I am not new
to loving a good book to read myself. I
am a fan of fantasy all the way down to self-help, growing an herbal garden
type of book to the latest book on Astrology.
When I started with
the first book, it wasn’t something I set out to publish or even considered at
the time until I actually finished. At
first it was to be a true story, about a difficult time for me that people said
I should write, share and help others.
Well writing that at the time was too hard, so I decided to take little
instances wrap it up into a story of paranormal fiction, taking inspiration
from real people in my life, a real place I visited thrown in with some of my
own world building and then suddenly it just turned into a series that I wanted
to keep moving with, so that gave rise to the second book in the series
Meridian Chronicles Black Widow Curse & The Coven.
The story has witches, fairies, spirit guides, demons and we
can’t forget the humans that are all within the pages of the story. Each of them has their own quirks and some of
them quite sarcastic to add. The series
has somewhat of a serious tone about it, but that the same time I can’t live
without humor and there can be some found peppered into the story. I feel like no matter how serious life gets,
everyone can use a good laugh, it’s the best medicine.
My two oldest boys
tell me I am weird, coming from them, I take that as a compliment! I love to make them laugh and let them see
that even adults need a break from the serious overtones of life and its okay
to give permission to yourself, to cut loose.
We change the words to songs to describe how we are feeling at the
moment or every once in a while, movie quotes were the topic to describe
situations, all thanks to my brother…and we laugh while we do it, knowing how
silly it all sounds.
Trying to rein that in when I write some days is a little
easier, but every once in a while, I roll out with some sarcastic remark or
tone from a character during a scene. To be honest, there is no bit of telling
what prompted it when I wrote the scene.
I love a good comedy and a mystery when I watch a movie, and
I can’t forget about music. I love
music! I played the flute and tried the guitar.
Hats off to anyone who can play the guitar, that was hard for me. The ends of my fingers never quite could
stand how raw they became from playing, not to mention my fingers I didn’t
think were long enough! If I had to do
over, I would play the drums. I do
reference music and songs in my books, because music can send a message, give
an image and most of all it is a conductor to spark emotions from within.
For me, as a reader,
the most memorable aspect to any good book I read, was how it made me
feel. Sure, I may can recall certain
scenes or a great quote, but for me it can all be traced back to the way it
made me feel and where the story took me is what I remember the most.
So as a writer, that is one aspect I hope a reader gets from
the story is after the last page is read, is a feeling.
About the Author
I am a wife and
mom to three boys. I am an animal lover especially horses that I used to ride,
train and show. Someday will do once more!
Favorite books are anything astrology, self help, motivation, romance and humor.
I love chocolate, coffee, my family (not in that order), and the beach.
I like to garden, hike, jog, swim and travel. My oldest two boys tell me I am weird as they laugh and I’ll take that as a good thing. I am told I am witty and sarcastic and I believe that comes out in my writing.
The third
installment to this series comes out September, 2019 and I am nearly finished
with the last book to the series that comes out in 2020.
