Dear Reader and Fellow Adventurer…
Hello from Azra’s Pith! Thank you for joining the adventure. I have a few tips for you before you begin. First, the thought of jumping through the passageway can be a scary idea (you’ll find out in chapter 4). Once you are in, the excitement and energy take over and it feels like the best rollercoaster you’ll ever ride. Enjoy it because you will land on the dirt of Copious Forest in a flash.
When you meet Ferdinand, he may come off as a little... well, testy. The truth is, he is a bit on the prickly side. He is also one of the most loyal friends one can have. Ask him to take you to the closest waterfront town. If you are lucky enough to see Market Day make sure you visit with Rosie the fox. She loves to trade and always has rare treasures from all over the realm.
Another thing to remember, birds in Azra’s pith are not always what they seem. If you catch one at the right time you may find yourself in the presence of an Empyrean Wizard. Most are good, peaceful and wise... but there may be an evil one out there with dark powers; so be careful!
If you need to get around, scamper fouls are the quickest mode of transportation on the ground (Empyrean Wizards can soar across the realm’s sky at amazing speed). Scamper fouls are also great companions! Hold on tight though! The ride is bumpy!
Always be aware of your surroundings! Bandits will catch you off guard to pick your pockets or capture you for ransom! If you happen to see Sebastion’s ship sailing up the river, try to hop aboard for ride! They are a spirited group and a swashbuckling adventure at sea is an absolute certainty!
Azra’s Pith is a place of wonder, filled with magic and fantastic creatures. Beware of what lurks in the shadows. There are dark forces at work. If you are willing to join in the quest with John William Celeste, and the others; prepare yourself for the journey of a lifetime! See you there!
