Dear Reader,
In ninth grade, I received an A on a short story that I enjoyed writing. The crowning point was the comment my English teacher wrote under the grade: “I doubt the originality of this story.” It made my day when my best friend received an A and the teacher had added the same comment on her paper. My friend had copied the story from a book she liked. But my story began and ended with me.
After dreaming about writing books from that day forward, I self-published my first book, A Gateway to Hope, forty-three years later. The title came to me while reading the words “a gateway to hope” during my Bible study. I decided to search for the word “hope” throughout the Bible, and while doing that, I decided upon the titles for the next four books. A Living Hope, The Certain Hope, The Confident Hope, and Overflow With Hope all became a reality over the next eight years.
The slogan on my Facebook author page is “The Write Way: A Real Slice of Life.” That is what each book, along with Pajama Party: The Story, a YA companion book to A Living Hope, represent.
In A Gateway to Hope, Neka and James must decide if joining their lives together reflects a business arrangement or true love.
In A Living Hope, Sadie must contend with her fragile self-esteem, plus seek forgiveness from Kyle. Kyle must decide just how far his forgiveness will go.
In The Certain Hope, Tara has three choices: Choose a quickie marriage to a man she just met, request a delay to his suggested ceremony date, or simply walk away from the relationship. Luke must determine how to ensure she decides on a quick marriage ceremony and doesn’t leave him altogether.
In The Confident Hope, Pam can either dissolve her marriage or endeavor to make it work throughout ongoing provocations. Mark must figure out how much he is willing to compromise to keep his marriage.
In Overflow With Hope, Tempia must chart the proper course for her life as Cory selects the best option for his future.
