Thank you for taking the time out the read my story. I am sure the captivating cover reeled you in to see what might’ve happened! I am glad you are here. I wrote this book in order to capture and embody the spirit of familial ties that soon come faced with adversity. The spirit of family, unity and loyalty are all concepts that rain true within my own family structure and I hope that you too find similarities within your own family dynamics. This book was written with heart. I wanted to capture the deeply rooted emotions of what families in today’s society are dealing with. From family secrets to coming together and lastly death, this family is exposed in truth and faced with the greatest decision of their lives. Please understand that deeply rooted history comes deeply rooted emotion so you may reach a point in the story that just hits too close to home and you may become emotional. When it becomes a bit too heavy, I advise to put the book down, process your emotion and pick it back up when you are ready. The heaviness in emotion doesn’t last the entire book but the connection with the family will. You will fall in love with each character and find yourself in awe of the strength of the women in the story.
The story was fun to write. I found joy in creating new ways to express similar emotions for each character. In doing research and journalism interviews I found my passion ignite as the human experience has always been a fascinating topic. I took my time with each character. I really studied the way I wanted each character to be portrayed. I wanted strength to the be the common denominator within the women, and honor to be the common denominator with the men of the story.
I encourage you to have fun reading the story, put yourself
in it and ask yourself how you would handle the bombshell that comes in part
two! Allow yourself to be submerged into the lives of the struggling family and
see what thoughts, emotions and reflections come up! I sincerely thank you for

TK Ray was born in San Diego, California to a fifteen-year-old mother and fourteen-year-old father in the late eighties. Born to two young teens, TK found herself tainted by the statistics of becoming a teen mother herself. She found solace in the world of literature as her own private journals became her voice when shyness took over. She began to understand the world in more intuitive way and birthed that intuition into an imagination that has fueled much of her writing. Much of her writing is personal however as the years have gone by, have included poetry, music, obituaries, blog posts and now literature.
TK is a certified Holistic Health Practitioner and practicing Massage Therapist in southern California. She fuses her knowledge in holistic health with that of her knowledge of her bachelor’s degree in health science to better serve her community in wellness and education. Her wellness blog embodies all of who she is as she has expanded on her writing style to help others follow their passion, peace and purpose. Tk’s writing style is sure to leave you on the edge of your seat as she paints a portrait of pain drawn out by the light in her own fighting spirit.
