The first and most important thing I’d like to say is thank
you for your interest in my books. I can’t tell you how much it means to me
each time a reader takes the time to reach out and tell me they enjoyed one of
my stories.
My newest release, Grave Consequences, is the fifth
book in my Bay Island Psychic Mystery series. The idea for this series
originated with a dinner-time debate over whether or not ghosts are real. My
daughter and I firmly believe ghosts exist, while my husband is adamant that they
don’t. My boys tend to lean toward not believing. Since I’ve had several
experiences that formed my opinion, I stick to my belief in something beyond
this world.
In the first book in the series, Death at First Sight,
Cass Donovan gives up her psychiatric practice after a series of unfortunate
events and returns home to Bay Island
to pursue her dream of opening Mystical Musings, a psychic shop on the boardwalk.
Even though Cass spends her days offering psychic readings, she credits her
success on good instincts and years of psychiatric training. She’s not quite
ready to admit to herself some of her information comes from something beyond
the easily explained.
Her two best friends have completely opposite opinions on
the subject. Stephanie’s unwavering belief in Cass’s psychic abilities have her
following Cass into any situation. Bee, who doesn’t believe in ghosts at all
and refuses to have any part in any psychic mumbo-jumbo, always ends up at
their side, despite his reluctance, because he’s such a loyal friend.
As the series progresses, Cass comes to realize there’s something
more to her abilities. In Grave Consequences, the spirits have finally
figured out Cass can hear them, and they harass her relentlessly, to the point
where she misunderstands an important message that is trying to reach her. Unfortunately,
that misunderstanding lands her smack in the middle of another murder investigation.

And as she begins to close in on the culprit, she realizes too late that if she’s not careful, she’ll soon be communicating with the dead in person . . .

Lena grew up in a small town on the south shore of eastern Long Island. She recently relocated to Clermont, Florida with her husband, three kids, son-in-law, and four dogs.
