Dear
Reader,
Your bags
are packed and you have finally made it through security. Alas, you are now
seated on the plane and ready to begin a much needed holiday! Imagine that
feeling and you will understand exactly how I feel whenever beginning a new
book. It is with great anticipation that I start reading, with hopes the book
will take me away on an adventure.
As you
start reading Circumvent, my latest release, your adventure begins in Lahaina,
on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. Here you will meet newlyweds, Nikki and
Ruggiero. It is now time to get your taste buds ready because Nikki is a food
writer for a national magazine, and Ruggiero is a world renown pastry chef. If
you enjoy dessert, you will delight in reading about the silken layers of
Ruggiero’s Kona coffee and macadamia nut cream on a bed of decadent dark
chocolate.
But hold
on! Did you know that Lyon, France has been called the World Capital of
Gastronomy? Lyon is also known as the Gastronomical Capital of France. In
simple terms, Lyon, France is home to amazing food, and is a fitting
destination for Nikki and Ruggiero to visit. Unfortunately their French holiday
mutates into a waking nightmare.
While safe
and secure in your own home, and perhaps reading beside a crackling fire, you
can read about Nikki’s work assignment gone wrong, and how Ruggiero stops at
nothing to find her. As you follow their travels through Vieux-Lyon, meaning
Old Lyon, you will learn about the intriguing secret passages called Traboules.
Of course,
one cannot exist among such gastronomical pleasures without sampling the
cuisine. Even during tragedy everyone has to eat, so I do mention a few yummy
delights along the way.
My main
goal in writing this book was a simple one. I wanted to make you smile. While
reading, I hope you are caught up in the story, leaving any and all concerns
behind. My gift to you is a vacation without having to pack. Enjoy!
Love,
S.K.

About the Book:
Imagine
living in a quaint, beach front cottage on the Hawaiian island of Maui. You have an
amazing
job, combined with the pleasure of working from home. Lunch breaks
become a daily picnic on the sand. Dessert is always included because of your
marriage to a famous pastry chef. Life could not be any better. Or so it seems…
When French born, Nikki Sabine Moueix travels to Hawaii for a special work
assignment, her job of writing an article about a famous Swiss pastry chef
generates more than a magazine piece. They fall in love, get married, and Nikki
becomes Mrs. Ruggiero Delémont.
When another
assignment calls for Nikki to spend three weeks in France, Ruggiero’s
schedule prevents him from joining her. She travels alone, advancing straight
into danger. After a threatening confrontation, Nikki wakes up in a French
hospital with no knowledge of her past. When she fails to check in, Ruggiero
panics and pushes for an immediate investigation. But as he closes in, Nikki’s
new found friend moves her to another city. It becomes a game of hide and seek
with Nikki as the prize.
CIRCUMVENT
allows readers to form a bond with Nikki as they yearn for her to remember.
They will cheer for Ruggiero and his relentless determination to locate his
beloved wife. This is a story about two people who never lose their faith in
God, and find amazing friends to help them along the way.
What a fantastic blog! Great job! I really enjoyed reading "Dear Reader" from many of your authors. Blessings! S.K. Derban
