Dear Reader…
I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this
letter. Forever King: Surviving the loss of my unborn child was written to
expose and bring light to a very common loss that takes place every day. Many
women and men bring forth children born “sleeping” with no heartbeat. Just in
the United States
alone. Over 24,000 plus families have “stillborn” babies.
In reading my story, you being able to take a glimpse of a
devastating period of time that took place on July 5, 2014. Can you imagine preparing for your soon to
cth of July only
to wake up the next morning to find out the baby is no more? Can you imagine
having to tell your husband that the baby we had dreams for and only less than
three short weeks to go that our son King is gone?
ome baby and sending the family off to enjoy the 4
This was my story and my journey of losing my unborn son
King. A journey that I would have never imagined to share with anyone in my
immediately circle, yet alone the entire world. However, this needed to be told
to help other mothers and fathers know they are not alone and that they too
have hope in having a successfully pregnancy after loss.
During the process of writing the book, I opened my son
King’s keepsake box and looked at his ultrasound pictures, baby shower
pictures, I watched his sonograms on my computer. I read the cards received
from family and friends after King’s funeral, I looked at King’s certificate of
stillbirth and death certificate. I wanted each and every one of you to feel
the emotions felt and the journey I experienced after losing him. No one should
ever have to give birth to a child, holding them lifeless in your arms. So
innocent, so pure.
