Dear Reader, Love Krystal Lawrence

Dear Reader…

This may be the easiest love letter I have ever had the pleasure of writing. Every word I pen is with you in mind, and for your enjoyment. Because I know the allure of a good book that transports you to a completely new world and takes you on a completely new adventure every time you turn the page, I work very hard to provide you with the greatest escape from reality that I can with the books I write. I have been asked a time or two how it is that a cream-puff like me can write such scary stuff, and I always tell them the same thing. I didn’t pick the genre…the genre picked me. There is something about the siren song of a good weird tale that I find completely irresistible. Stephen King and Dean Koontz have built an empire on the subject matter, so I know I am not alone. The greatest compliment I ever received was by one of my readers. He called me the “Mistress of Macabre.” The name has stuck and shown up in virtually all of my press releases. I began writing Cat O’Nine Tales from a single story idea. I had no idea that over about a year’s time I would have ten such tales done and ready to go into one anthology. Having only written full-length novels previously, the short story collection was a great deal of fun, especially since it really was born as an accidental book. I didn’t honestly know I had that many different tales in me. Because the three previous novels I had released were so well received, my hope was that the readers would enjoy taking a series of different journeys with me, instead of traveling just a single road this time.  I hope you have as much fun reading them as I did writing them and that you will come back and visit the unusual people and places often. You make it all worth it. Without you there would be no me. Thank you constant reader for always being my light at the end of every tunnel.
